Artist Will Cotton is no stranger to this blog. His confection-filled and pin-up inspired paintings were discussed in a recent piece on art and gluttony, and pictures of his pop-up bakery at Partners & Spade were posted here last year.
Cotton has garnered attention these past few months for his work as artistic director of Katy Perry's uber sweet music video California Gurls (featuring Snoop Dogg); and for his appearance as a guest judge on the reality television series Work of Art. Wondering what Cotton will whip up next?
On Tuesday, September 21, the artist will lecture and then participate in a question-and-answer session at Christie's New York. This program is organized by the American Federation of Arts and sponsored by Brooklyn's Kumquat Cupcakery. Yes, cupcakes will be served. Seating is limited and reservations are required.
