Rap Chocolates

Lil Wayne Chocolate Bar, 2.5 x 2.5 x .5 in.

Not sweet on Lil Wayne's new album, Tha Carter IV? Then you might try these "rap chocolates" stamped with his silhouette. The two-ounce confections are sold via Staple Crops, the online store of multimedia artist Tahir Hemphill. A pack of three retails at $75, plus $9 for shipping. Sound pricey for a few pieces of candy? Consider it a donation toward Hemphill's Hip-Hop Word Count, a searchable ethnographic database built from the lyrics of over 40,000 Hip-Hop songs. Although development of the project is still in progress, samples are currently on view at the Museum of Modern Art in the exhibition Talk to Me.
