Contemporary Confections is the blog of Nicole J. Caruth, a writer and curator who has a serious sweet tooth.
Caruth's articles on food and art have appeared in ARTnews, C Magazine, and Gastronomica. She is a regular writer for the Art21 blog and contributes a column titled Gastro-Vision. Her writing will be featured in two forthcoming publications: Vitamin Green, a survey of sustainable architecture and green design, and Acquired Taste, an exhibition catalogue organized by Six Pack Projects for California State Fullerton’s Begovich Gallery. A native of the California Bay Area, Caruth received her Bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University, where she studied art history with Dr. Judith Bettelheim and Dr. Whitney Chadwick. She earned her Master's degree from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College. Caruth's recent curatorial projects include With Food in Mind at the Center for Book Arts, New York.
